NOTE:  i think some people outside the DUTCH-AMERICAN community don't understand that we are an "ETHNIC clique" not a "white clique" my experience in grand rapids and GRCH & CALVIN college was that we were bonded together by ethnicity (dutch-american) and our Christian faith, not skin color. the few non-white (or non dutch-american non-whites) who were nonetheless Christian felt included at GRCH albeit I don't remember any non-whites in my dorm at calvin college. But even professors who come from the "outside" who don't have the ethnic and religious affiliation (ie lots of professors will take a job wherever they can get one and don't necessarily truly have any affiliation or allegiance to either the Christian faith or the Christian Reformed Church, although they will sign the required statement of faith just for the job). When I think back to my college years, the professors I still feel allegiance with are the ones who were both truly Christian and Dutch-American. Those without the ethnic affiliation weren't normally interested in also being part of the Christian Reformed Church even if they called themselves  Christian. I'm sure the secular media wouldn't understand that either.

HE THINKS CALVIN AND THE ENTIRE STATE OF MICHIGAN ONLY HAPPENED BECAUSE OF WHITE PRIVILEGE, ha ha
"What occurred was not an isolated incident, a freak occurrence in an otherwise loving and inclusive community," Kuilema says in a column last Friday in Calvin's school paper. "While few members of this community openly espouse white supremacy, many members of our community continue to deny white privilege. It must be clearly stated that those who deny white privilege functionally believe in white supremacy, whether they have the courage to write it on a car or not."
