"CRCNA Receives Nearly $1 Million ..."SO IF YOU RECEIVE $1 MILLION FROM A COMPANY DOES THAT MAKE U MORE FAVORABLE TOWARDS THEM?
CRCNA Receives Nearly $1 Million Grant to Launch Thriving Together Program
"The Christian Reformed Church in North America has received a $998,990 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help establish its Thriving Together program. .."
MY CONCERN WITH MY BELOVED CRC accepting this $1 million dollar grant from Lilly Endowment is that it is from a major billion-dollar pharmaceutical company...and maybe it comes with "no strings attached" ( or maybe not, have we the people of the CRC been made privy to the "fine print"?) , but does it consciously or unconsciously influence the administrator, or church pastor, or church member to think more favorably about the use of various medications, including psycho-tropics, as an answer to some problems, rather than prayer, fellowship, evangelism, etc. I am NOT saying all medication is bad or evil, but it can be over-used sometimes, and there are certain medications that have more negative "side effects" than others, including some used for "mental health issues"...; I am concerned about an agenda by Lilly to sort of bring the church "under its wing" so to speak. They are giving multi-millions to churches and denominations all over the USA. What will be the long-term result ?
