Sometimes I'll just do random Google searches for people I remember from Calvin: classmates, roommates etc. so I recently looked up Chuck who happened to be a year or two older than me and he was a roommate for a summer, off campus. And I remember his sister from watching her play basketball- she was a pretty good player as well. So I see Chuck is now some kind of a DJ in Grand Rapids, a place he owns and operates called "wow factor " -apparently they do mostly weddings.
Then I just randomly came across Speidel who apparently is the son of Chuck and is a basketball player in nova scotia. And from Lucas' biography I find out that Chuck coached basketball in Denmark for a while after college and also married a girl in Sweden or from Sweden who may have gone to Grand Valley.
So Lucas is actually, or may be Danish nationality or dual nationality I'm not sure but apparently now they're back in Grand Rapids as a family although Lucas is a college student in Canada.
