belated rest-in-peace
Don Vroon was a professor and coach at Calvin College from 1959 to 1996. He led the men's tennis team for 32 years and the men's basketball team for 11 years. As a student, He was a three-time All-MIAA athlete and the 1956 MVP.
He graduated with a history degree and served in the military before joining the faculty. He passed away on November 14, 2003, at age 70, leaving behind His wife Judy and four children.
Modern Day Example
Vroon’s habit of hosting students for Sunday dinner is like a modern coach who uses their home as a community hub, offering personal guidance and a sense of family to athletes who are far from their own homes.
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; — Colossians 3:23
